The post holder will be expected to contribute to the inpatient and out patient Cardiology service and will be given training and experience in all aspects of non Invasive cardiology.
If the post holder has appropriate skills and experience then Training will be given in diagnostic cardiac catheterisation and pacemaker Implantation
Essential Duties for this post involve: • Commitment to the Cardiology service to ensure that the best possible Clinic • Reviewing investigation results • Constructing a management plan • Advising on appropriate further investigations • Ensuring appropriate treatment is prescribed
• Ensuring that resuscitation issues are addressed • Discussing with patients/relatives the current issues • Deliver a high quality service to outpatient clinics
• Ongoing training of staff by Giving feedback to junior doctors on their case presentation, examination
Techniques and diagnosis • Working with Nurse Practitioners to deliver Nurse led protocol driven care • Carry out teaching duties as required and take an active part in the Postgraduate Medical Education programme and in the teaching of junior medical staff.
To be involved in the education of nursing staff, General Practitioners and other clinical professions.
• To participate in service development and improvement through commitment to Clinical Governance. • Take part in, and lead as appropriate, team, department, regional and national audits. • To maintain a commitment to the general medical on call rota at middle grade level
• Be involved in research where appropriate • To comply with the GMC guidance on Good Medical Practice
